Washington State History-Chapter 5
In chapter 5 the thing I’ll remember most is John Jacob Astor. What I learned is that he founded the Pacific Fur Trading CO. and that he sold the CO. in 1812. This was an important part of our state’s history because if he hadn’t sold the CO. the fur trading business would have gone on a little longer, until the fashion ran out. So he helped speed that up.
